The Board of Zoning Appeals meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month, when an appeal needs to be heard, at 7pm. For the duration of the COVID-19 emergency, the Board of Zoning Appeals will meet via video conference. Meeting agendas and materials are posted in advance on this page and public participation through written comments is STRONGLY encouraged. The Town of Danby has implemented a Zoning Ordinance thatincludes:
- Land Use Regulation
- Dimensional Requirements
When a proposed project does not comply with the ZoningOrdinance, an appeal may be filed with Danby's Board of ZoningAppeals (the BZA, a.k.a. Zoning Board of Appeals, ZBA). Appealsmay request:
- a Use Variance—when the intended use of a property does not conform to the uses permitted in a particular zone
- an Area Variance—when the size or location of a project does not conform to the dimensional requirements specified for the zone
